Birth Doula

Philosophy:

I believe that giving birth is a normal, natural process. As your doula, my goal is to empower you and your partner by helping you gather the knowledge you need to make informed choices regarding your care, to support those choices and to help you create positive memories of your birth. I do not subscribe to any one birth philosophy, but I do have experience with Hypnobirthing, Bradley Method, Birthing From Within and many other childbirth methods.

As your birth doula:

  • I am trained and experienced in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum needs.
  • I provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support to you and your partner during labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.
  • I support your choices in birth and have no agenda of my own.
  • I follow and teach evidence based birth practices.
  • I support the birthing parent and their partner equally.

I have a special interest in:

  • Unmedicated birth
  • VBAC
  • Home birth
  • LGBTQA+ and alternative families

However I attend all types of births including planned c-sections, medicated, hospital birth, and birth center births.

“I am so grateful for Jen’s contribution to my extraordinary birth experience. She stayed close at my side and whispered gentle encouragement when I needed it most. She provided much more than support and friendship, but also peace of mind and body.”
